With the arrival of spring, frolicking lambs, golden daffodils, birdsong, light evenings and all that, even the most cynical of us all feel an uplift in our spirits.
Emerging out of a third lockdown into the sunshine and relative freedom, our hearts are singing as we joyfully look ahead to a summer, which may just include the possibility of a holiday or an invitation to a wedding, which is allowed to have well, of all things wedding guests! A table for two in a favourite restaurant or a family barbecue in the back garden are not some remote dream but will be an actual real life occurrence, as we drift back into some sort of normality at long last.
Then do I hear you think, or I hope you do, that a beautiful outfit or two (maybe three?) is needed and who best to satisfy that need than ‘Mwah Mwah’ as I am known on facebook!
I have adopted a new motto, “think texture and drape, girls.” And nothing embodies this description more than the beautiful, linen jackets (or shackets if you want to be on trend) which have recently come in and which go with everything for that lovely post lockdown look.
Colours are soft pastels – think blush pink, silver-grey, classic – navy blue and charcoal and, of course neon – dazzling orange and deep pink.
What to pair them with?
A long sleeveless dress gives an elegant, flowing look, add a necklace and you have a perfect evening outfit or for day time casual – pair with a cross strapped bag in a wide variety of colours to coordinate with your look.
Or, a classic shirt or tee together with my wonderful magic trousers, now available in plain, animal print or combat pattern, delightfully stretchy for maximum comfort and in every colour you could wish for.
To be super trendy, just fling it over the shoulder, catwalk style and when it becomes a little chilly, it’s there for you to layer over your favourite dress. Layering, of course, is a vital piece of armoury not just to protect us from those chilly evenings but to disguise, how can I put it diplomatically, any extra lockdown curvaceousness.
Now it is spring, colours generally are becoming brighter and lighter. Most popular this season is the sorbet palette – ranging from pistachio, mint green, pale blue, light aqua and blush pink. These beautiful shades feature in a wide range of garments from soft wool knits, oversized sweat shirts and joggers. Having discovered loungewear in lockdown, we are not quite ready yet to relinquish the comfort it provides.
Sorbet colours also look beautiful in tunics and dresses and I expect to have a full range of signature pieces available from one of my most popular suppliers for the Grand Ppening on 12 April.
Following on from my highly successful Mothering Sunday hampers, I am now offering birthday bundles, comprising of co-ordinated accessories perfect for any lady. Just let me know what you would like and I will either post directly to any address or collect from the shop if you prefer. I also have gift vouchers available.
I literally cannot wait to see all my lovely customers again, don’t forget styling appointments will be available after 12 April so do drop me a line and I will slot you in the appointment diary.
