Firstly a Happy New Year to all my lovely customers, although many of us feel that we have already had enough of 2021 and wish to skip to 2022! As one wag posted “I am writing to cancel my subscription to 2021, I have had the seven day trail period and I am not interested“!
The Deja Sale
But, 2021 does bring some good news! Although my shop is closed, I am still running click and collect and a virtual shopping service, so why not treat yourself to something new?
All the clothes from last year have now been reduced by 30%, I have snuggly warm coats and chunky knitwear, loungewear, and dresses and tunics to fit all shapes and sizes. A selected range of accessories are also in the sale including lovely bobble hats, gloves and star-patterned tote bags.
Remember if you don’t feel comfortable to click and collect, I can post items to you.
This week I have some lightweight jumpers and snoods which have just arrived, some unusual but beautiful colours including shades of teal and grape. I have some delicate lacy ponchos and brightly coloured scarves in a range of colours and prints.
Plus, I am introducing a new service, where you tell me your requirements for the spring season and I will source it for you.
With lockdown likely to last until Easter (!) I will not be buying the usual quantity of stock, but I will still be in close contact with my wonderful suppliers and will be showcasing new collections on social media. So if you are not already following me on Facebook and Instagram, please make sure you are!
At this time of the year it is good to look forward to the spring fashion collections and what the fashion experts believe will be big in 2021.
Well, here I think the industry is catching up with Deja as scarves are going to be a massive trend for the new season. As you know, we have always been a big fan of this wonderful but under utilised accessory, layering them not just for warmth but to bring life and structure to an outfit.
Leopard and animal prints feature heavily as do rainbow prints and the more traditional floral will (apparently!) peak mid-season. Fabrics will range from silks to satins to chiffon and a new trend will be for pleated scarves or neck scarves.
In terms of clothes, eighties-style shoulder pads are back on oversized jackets and blazers, black and white monochrome will be big and sorbet pastel tones will be everywhere. But the must colour will be yellow – if you haven’t got a yellow handbag then you will need to remedy the situation! They are all over the catwalks and streets from mustard coloured totes to canary clutch bags. They certainly will spice up any outfit and will look great with the monochrome look.
And the 2021 colours of the year will be a bright-hued yellow paired with ultimate grey symbolising unity, stability and hope! One trend I will not be adopting are the high heeled, over the knee white boots – I’ll save those for the youngsters!
On a final note, like Joe Wicks who is running his lockdown PE Sessions again, I will be doing my regular videos to keep you all amused so do tune in. I am fully committed to my new exercise regime with my amazing Personal Trainer, Andrew and have to say I am feeling the benefits in terms of improved fitness and flexibility although the weight loss hit a plateau over Christmas! Although I am sticking to the maxim that it is not what you eat between Christmas and New Year, it’s what you eat between New Year and Christmas that matters!
